Nima Amjadi, M.D.

Dr. Nima Amjadi is the Chief of Cardiology at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.

Dr. Amjadi specializes in all aspects of cardiovascular disease. While he maintains a busy office-based practice, he has an emphasis in Interventional Cardiology and performs procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, intravascular ultrasound, peripheral/carotid angiography and interventions, as well as percutaneous closure of Atrial Septal Defect and Patent Foramen Ovale.

Dr. Amjadi earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center (University of Arizona) in Phoenix, AZ. He received his specialty training at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center/University of California - Los Angeles, where he was a fellow in Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Amjadi also completed an additional fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Disease at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Dr. Amjadi is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society. Dr. Amjadi is fluent in English and Farsi.

John A. Dieck, Jr., M.D.

Dr. John A. Dieck is the President of Texas Heart & Vascular.

Dr. Dieck earned his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he also completed his residency training in Internal Medicine. Dr. Dieck concluded his training with a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at St. Luke’s Hospital, the Texas Heart Institute, Houston, TX. He has served as Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital and as Chief Cardiology Fellow at the Texas Heart Institute.
Dr. Dieck has been in private practice in Austin since 1990. During this time, he has served as the Chief of Catheterization Laboratories for Seton Medical Center, St. David's Episcopal Hospital, and South Austin Medical Center, and as the Director of Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at Seton Medical Center.

Dr. Dieck is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, the Clinical Council of the American Heart Association, the Travis County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Dieck is fluent in English and Spanish.

Gerald V. Levy, M.D.

Dr. Levy specializes in general and interventional cardiology, including cardiac catheterization, coronary stenting, vascular angiography and intervention and pacemaker implantation.  He has a special interest in the treatment of patients with congestive heart failure and lipid disorders, as well as in the treatment of cardiovascular disease in the master athlete.  He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Levy  received his cardiology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston Massachusetts and his internal medicine training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas.

Dr. Levy is board certified by the American board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the Travis County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Levy is a former Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the Houston Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a former Medical Director of the Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Services at The Methodist Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas.

In his spare time Dr. Levy enjoys his family, is a competitive cyclist, an avid mountain climber and fly fisherman.

Vinh D. Nguyen, D.O.

Dr. Vinh Nguyen is the medical director of the nuclear laboratory at Texas Heart & Vascular.

Dr. Nguyen received both his bachelor's degree and medical degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. He continued his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI, and the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. Dr. Nguyen completed his Cardiology fellowship at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, where he served as Chief Fellow. He completed advanced training in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular ultrasound imaging, and CT angiography at the Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, New Orleans, LA.

Dr. Nguyen is board certified in Nuclear Cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Travis County Medical Society, and the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association. Dr. Nguyen is fluent in English and Vietnamese.

Erol H. Ozdil, M.D.

Dr. Ozdil is a former Chief of Cardiology at St. David’s South Austin Hospital.

Dr. Ozdil received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and his medical degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. He completed his residency program in Internal Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine, and received his fellowship training in Cardiology at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, TX.

Dr. Ozdil has been awarded the Highest Evaluation for Internship by the Baylor College of Medicine, the Award for Excellence in Pathology by the East Tennessee State University, and the award for Outstanding Clinical Performance in Internal Medicine by the Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Ozdil specializes in general cardiology, including cardiac catheterization, coronary stenting, peripheral vascular disease, as well as peripheral stenting, permanent pacemaker implantation, and all aspects of noninvasive cardiology, including nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Ozdil is a former Chief Interventional Fellow and a former instructor of Advanced Cardiac Life Support at the Texas Heart Institute.

Dr. Ozdil is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society, the American Association of Nuclear Cardiology, the Travis County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

Thomas N. Tracey, M.D.

Dr. Tracey received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School in Houston, TX. He completed an internship and residency program in Internal Medicine, as well as a fellowship in Cardiology, at the Texas A & M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine – Scott & White.

Dr. Tracey has served as an Instructor in Internal Medicine at the Texas A & M University College of Medicine, and is a former Senior Staff Physician in Cardiology at the Scott & White Clinic in Temple, TX.

Dr. Tracey has been elected as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor for the years 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Dr. Tracey is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Tracey is also a member of the Travis County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

Paul A. Tucker, II, M.D.

Dr. Paul A. Tucker is the Vice President of Cardiology at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.

Dr. Tucker received his bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating Summa Cum Laude, with induction into Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Dr. Tucker completed his residency program in Internal Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. He received his fellowship training in Adult Cardiology at St. Luke’s Hospital, the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, where he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow. He is a past Outstanding Cardiology Fellow of the Texas Heart Institute, and has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Clinical Neurology from the Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Tucker currently serves as the Chief of Cardiology at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, and has served as a Peer Reviewer for the Texas Medical Foundation. He also is a physician panelist for the Texas Medical Board, and the current (as well as past) Chief of Cardiology at SAMC.

Dr. Tucker has been elected as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor for the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010.

Dr. Tucker is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of the American Heart Association, the Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society, the Travis County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
